Automotive Service Technician

Objective

  • Service Technicians are responsible for the actual service and/or repair of vehicles assigned to them by service management.

Responsibilities

  • Properly complete the services and or/repairs for which the Technician is trained as assigned by management
  • Complete all work according to the applicable safety requirements and published procedures
  • Maintain an inventory of normal mechanic’s tools, including screwdrivers, wrenches, socket wrenches, pliers, hammers, chisels and punches, and other tools needed to perform the work for which the Technician is trained and not normally inventoried by the Service Department as “special tools”
  • Properly use the special tools and equipment provided by the Service Department
  • Participate in and utilize technical training as assigned by management
  • Diagnose and recommend needed service and maintenance repairs
  • Produce quality work that evidences pride of workmanship
  • Maintain the work space assigned in an organized and clean manner
  • Ensure that customers’ vehicles are returned to them as clean as they were prior to being serviced
  • Maintain personal grooming, hygiene, and uniform standards according to departmental policies
  • Arrive at work, take breaks, and depart work at the times designated by management
  • Show common courtesy to all customers and dealership personnel
  • Make every effort to achieve the production objectives set by management
  • Review the technical bulletins and other publications as assigned by management
  • Provide the administrative assistance necessary to complete warranty repair orders and other tasks assigned by management
  • Use shop supplies and materials in a practical and economical manner
  • Constructively communicate with other dealership personnel as required to satisfy customer needs
  • Report to management any situation or condition that jeopardizes the safety, welfare, or integrity of the dealership, its personnel, or customers
  • Performing other duties as needed per Management’s request

Entry Level (Express Team) Service Technician

Objective

  • The Express Service Technician performs basic maintenance and light repairs on customer vehicles. Primary goals are safe, efficient performance of all maintenance and repair tasks as defined in dealership processes and policies

Responsibilities

  • Perform basic maintenance and light repairs on customer vehicles
  • Conduct multipoint inspections of customer vehicles to identify needed maintenance services and repairs
  • Follow all required safety and hazardous materials procedures as required by dealership policies and applicable laws and regulations
  • Use and maintain dealership-provided tools and equipment in proper operating condition
  • Document inspection findings and maintenance requirements clearly and accurately. Communicate then to the Service Advisors
  • Communicate proactively with other associates to ensure a smooth, safe flow of work through the shop
  • Quality-check own work and the work of the other Service Technicians as requested
  • Performing other duties as needed per Management’s request

Objective

  • The New Product Specialist/Sales is responsible for selling new cars and trucks. This position reports to department Sales Managers.

Responsibilities

  • Ongoing training and certification for manufacturers’ products
  • Knowledge of current and incoming inventory
  • Knowledge of current pre-owned inventory and sales practices in the Used Car Center
  • Maintaining a neat and clean appearance, representing the business at all times
  • Attending announced sales meetings
  • Inventory maintenance, including parking and lining vehicles and checking in new inventory
  • Continuous training on phone and sales skills
  • Meeting preset sales objectives
  • Meeting or exceeding dealership CSI numbers
  • Prompt attendance at dealership for scheduled work hours
  • Early arrival for snow days, and cleaning snow and preparing the inventory for re-opening

Pre-Owned Product Specialist/Sales
